Can I try it before paying?
Yes — the Free plan and a full live demo let you explore everything before you spend a cent.
Can I change plans later?
Anytime, from Plan & billing. An upgrade takes effect right away. If you cancel, you keep the paid features until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, and the workspace moves to Free after that — nothing you entered is lost.
What happens if I hit the Free limits?
You’ll be prompted to upgrade when you add a 6th member or a second launch. Nothing you’ve done is lost.
Is my recipe safe here?
Yes. Your formula — ingredients, quantities, processes, costs and suppliers — is your confidential business information under section 3 of the Terms. It is never shown to other users or workspaces, never sold, never used to train AI models (ours or our providers’), and nobody at ShelfStep opens it unless you grant support access, or abuse, a security problem or the law requires it — the Privacy Policy says exactly when. A sell page shows ingredient names and allergens only, never amounts.
Do you give refunds?
You can cancel at any time and keep the paid features until the end of the month or year you have paid for; we do not refund the unused part of a period. Add-ons are prorated when you add or remove them, and top-ups are one-time purchases that are not refundable. If a charge was a mistake — a double charge, a plan you meant to cancel — email hello@shelfstep.com and we will put it right.
What does support actually mean?
Free: email hello@shelfstep.com and a person answers, usually within two business days. Pro: usually a reply within one business day. Studio: usually the same business day, plus help setting up your first launch. There is no chatbot in front of any of it.
What counts as an active launch?
A product you are still working on. A launch is one product. Its packs — pouches, bottles, packets — are part of it. Marking a launch finished frees its slot straight away, at no cost: the launch keeps every record, its sell page and its ShelfStep Record, and you can reopen it whenever a slot is free. Archiving does the same and also takes it out of your launch list. Free includes 1 at a time, Pro 5, and Studio is unlimited. On Pro you can add extra launches for $8 a month each from Plan & billing, and remove them again whenever; Stripe prorates both ways.
