Press and launch kit

In one line
ShelfStep takes a food maker's recipe from the kitchen to a store shelf, one guided step at a time.
In a paragraph
ShelfStep is a guided launch plan for people who make food to sell. A maker enters a recipe, and ShelfStep lays out the path to a store shelf for that product: whether it is an acidified food and who signs its scheduled process, what the label has to say, what a case should cost, how to find a co-packer, and what a grocery buyer will ask. As the maker works, it keeps the records a buyer or an inspector asks for, from lot codes to a practice recall, and gives each product a sell page a store buyer can order from. AI drafts and researches along the way; the maker decides, and each step can also be done by hand. It was founded in September 2026 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, by Marco Soe, whose family runs a Thai restaurant there.
“The recipe is never the hard part. The hard part is the hundred small questions between a kitchen and a store shelf, and nobody hands you the order to answer them in. ShelfStep is that order.”

ConceptFor a Product Hunt page
- Turns a recipe into a guided plan for that product: the food rules, the label, the price and the buyers.
- Keeps the records a buyer or an inspector asks for as you work: lot codes, proof on file, a practice recall.
- Gives each product a sell page a store buyer can order from, and each maker a page of their own.
Hi Product Hunt! I'm Marco. My family runs a Thai restaurant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and when we first thought about putting one of our sauces in a jar, every question opened another: is this an acidified food, who signs the scheduled process, what does the label have to say, what should a case cost, what will a grocery buyer ask?
ShelfStep is the tool we needed. You enter your recipe and it lays out the path for that product, one step at a time, with the reason for each step beside it. It keeps the records a buyer or an inspector will want as you go, and when you're ready it gives your product a sell page a store can order from. AI drafts and researches along the way, and you can do every step by hand.
It does not replace a Process Authority, a lab or a lawyer; it gets your answers in order so their review is shorter.
You can click through a sample brand's launch without signing up at shelfstep.com/demo. I'd love to hear what you'd want it to do next.
